Siem reap Angkor Wat Things to do and see – Part 1

Angkor wat is well known for its temples and was listed in the world wonder list. Many has put Angkor wat in their must visit or must go list. In this post I am going to share with you our 3 days 2 nights stay.

Getting Around
It is easy to get around Siem Reap is there are plenty of toktok and local tours. It is best to stay near the night market for walking distance access to food and nearby attractions.

We hired a local driver from trip advisor for 2 days full temple visits for about 60usd. You can also opt for local tours in Siem Reap. The place we stay also offer tours at a fair price.

Where to Stay
Strongly recommend Golden Temple Villa as I have really pleasant staying experience here, it is value for money, customer services are just great. Not to mention free pick up from airport.

once arrived at the villa, we were invited to rest in the restaurant area and served with ice cold drinks and towel for refreshment while waiting them to process the information and to get the keys. We also received an hour of free massage that you can select the time and day that you want to use the free massage coupon.

What to do in Siem Reap
We arrived the Villa in about 3pm was dead hungry. Instead of walking outside hunting for food, we order our first Cambodian famous dish Amok in the Villa’s restaurant. I must say the villa’s restaurant serve great food!

Artisan Angkor
Got our stomach fixed, Artisan Angkor is just right opposite of where we stay it is just about 2 minute walking distance. Walk right in and you’ll see different workshops, you’ll approached by the employee to get your clip-on pass he will then give you a free short tour around the workshops explaining the stages of the carvings work done.

Exploring Siem Reap
The nearby street and road are crowded with cars, tuktuk, bikes and the road are narrow. While exploring the town in anywhere else in the world, you’ll never want to miss out the local street food.

Night Market and Pub Street in Siem Reap
Best thing to do at night in siem reap? Night market, beer, party and food! Getting to night market from Golden Temple Villa is about 10-15 minute walking distance only.

We stopped by the most happening club and restaurant; temple club, 0.5usd per pint of Angkor beer, Khmer style grill squid ( about 3-4$), steak (7.5$), great mix of music, people dancing on the street, what’s better thing to do at night than that in Siem Reap?
